P6 / P7 United Youth Initiative - Fivemiletown College

19th Dec 2025

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are delighted to let you know that your child has the opportunity to take part in an exciting new programme through Healthy Kidz called the United Youth Initiative. This project brings together young people from different community backgrounds through a range of engaging activities, including:

  • Sports sessions designed to encourage teamwork, confidence, and fitness.
  • Good relations activities helping pupils to build friendships and mutual understanding.
  • Environmental aspects that promote care for our local surroundings.

The programme will run as part of an afterschool Shared Education slot, bringing together P6/7 Participants for schools in the area. Sessions will take place every Friday afternoon from 3pm–5pm, beginning on Friday 16th January and continuing for 12 weeks at Fivemiletown College, with a trip included at the end of 12 weeks! There will be NO sessions on Friday 13th February, Friday 3rd & 10th April due to School Holidays.

Transport will be provided from school to the venue. At the end of each session, we kindly ask parents/guardians to collect their child from Fivemiletown College at 5pm.

We are pleased to confirm that the programme is completely free of charge and is open exclusively to P6/7 pupils.

We believe this is a fantastic opportunity for your young person/s to make new friends, develop skills, and enjoy fun, meaningful activities in a safe and supportive environment.
