Super Shape Work
Well done to P5&6 for engaging so well in a variety of Shape and Space activities this week.
This involved:
1) Feeling a 3D shape and describing the properties to a partner whilst blindfolded
2) Naming shapes and counting the number of faces, edges and vertices with a partner
3) Watching a video and answering questions about 3D shapes and their matching nets
4) Discussing tessellations and creating tessellating patterns practically
5) Building 3D shapes and their matching nets
6) Measuring the length and breadth of shapes and using these measurements to find the perimeter
7) Measuring the length and breadth of shapes and using these measurements to calculate area.
This hands-on approach helped the children to develop their understanding of 2D and 3D shapes.
